The painful test of doing the right thing

 The painful test of doing the right thing

Naturally, problem and failure are results of errors and wrong processes. However, attacks are not necessarily the result of errors, most times attack happens because things are done the right way and there is someone who isn't comfortable about it. The reason why they aren't comfortable with how good things are going for you is because they failed in theirs and they want others to share their similar experience.

The first failure the world had was devil. The day, the devil got it wrong with God and lost his privilege with God, that was the day He got the occupation to raise attack against people who do things right.

In the book of Job 1:8, 2:3; God was so proud of Job unfailing righteousness and obedience. Immediately the devil got to hear such a successful report of Job, He became uncomfortable and the next thing that came out of his mind, is to see Job losing his great remark. Have you ever wonder why the moment things are becoming better, that's when things are becoming tougher. Worry less, it is the agenda of the devil to raise a diverging force against men who holds on doing right things. However, men that do wrong things, achieve their aim so easily and so smoothly. David was confused why this happens in the book of Psalm 73. In verse 5, he said;

Ps.73.5 - They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men. (KJV)

Job was so frustrated of his predicament. He was confident that he shouldn't be the victim of such catastrophe. He kept talking of his righteousness, he was so confident about it that he wanted a court case to argue his partial judgement with God and He is so sure of a victory. Little did Job know that, his predicament was not a punishment of any error but an attack of living a right life. The moment, he keep emphasizing on his righteousness, the more he keep annoying the devil and hence elongating his travails.

Job stayed long in his temptation because he fail to realise the real reason for his attacks and until he realised that In Job 40:2, 42:6 then he overcame his trials. The contrast was in Jesus situation, Jesus knew his temptation was not the result of any error but an attack against his righteousness. So he rather ask for mercy instead of making Justification. Therefore, the weapon Job didn't have was the weapon of mercy while the catalyst to his attack was justification.

You might be wondering why your finances keep struggling after your faithfulness in paying your tithe and living a life of financial righteousness. The more you keep going to God on the question WHY, You are giving the devil more chance to keep attacking you. The attack happened in the first place to break you, so the more you keep holding on to the strength of your justification, the more the test becomes tougher. Until you realise the key of God's mercy, the temptation might still hold tougher on you. Look at 1 Samuel 2:9

He will protect his godly ones, but the wicked will perish in darkness. No one will succeed by strength alone.

The strength of your tithe payment will only call the attention of devil to your finance test. The strength of your anointing will only invite devil to your ministerial test. When such attacks come, find no weapon in Justification, rather find weapon in crying for mercy. You need to know that the more you ascend greater heights in life, the more you should ascend in your request for mercy.

The day greatness start making you to feel independence from God, that's the day you start giving the devil more access to squeeze you. You might think you are strong but when the devil comes with his crushing might, you will know how vulnerable you could be. The scripture below gives a great wisdom needed

2Cor.12.9 - Each time he said, "My gracious favor is all you need. My power works best in your weakness." So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may work through me.

I learned from the above  scripture that the mercy of God is attracted to man's weakness while the attack of devil is attracted to man's strength. I am not suggesting that you live life of weakness, for the scripture says in Joshua 1:9 that you should be strong and courageous.

However, when storm beyond your power arise and you have look around yourself seeing there isn't something wrong, there is an indication that the devil is about to frustrate your right deed. Don't face the devil with your strength, rather run to God in your weakness so that He will be your strength to overcome as seen in Isaiah 40:28-30.

Remember the book of Galatians 6:9 which says;

So don't get tired of doing what is good. Don't get discouraged and give up, for we will reap a harvest of blessing at the appropriate time.

Whatever test that comes up because you are doing good, never surrender to giving up, victory is awaiting you.
